About Us

Barefoot Banana is an independent children’s book publisher in Thailand.

Our aim is to create and curate a series of enjoyable children’s picture books that can be read for pleasure. We are passionate about nurturing young minds through engaging and enriching storytelling experiences.

Our commitment extends beyond publishing; we strive to bring stories into real-life experiences. That’s why we founded the Children’s Picture Book Festival, the first of its kind, in Thailand.

In 2025, we achieved a significant milestone by becoming the first Thai publisher to be nominated for the prestigious Bologna Prize for the Best Children’s Publisher of the Year in the Asia category.

We operate in close partnership with our sister publisher, Book Island, UK.
